Three Portable Seawater Desalination Units Shipped to France

WTEYA has completed a new export delivery to Western Europe: three portable seawater desalination units have been built, tested and shipped to a client in France. The order gives the customer a compact, containerized water supply that can be relocated between sites instead of depending on a single fixed plant.

What the Client Needed

The French client required a dependable source of fresh water where a large, permanent desalination plant was not practical. The site has no established bulk water infrastructure, and the customer needed equipment that could be delivered quickly and put into service with minimal civil works.

After reviewing the daily water demand, the source salinity and the space available on site, the WTEYA engineering team recommended the 4021 portable seawater desalination machine — a self-contained unit built on reverse osmosis that ships as a single, ready-to-install package.

The Equipment: 4021 Portable Seawater Desalination Machine

Each of the three units is a 4021 portable machine. One unit produces 4,021 gallons — about 15 m³ — of fresh water per day, a capacity that suits a coastal site, an island facility or a remote operation with a steady daily demand for potable water.

Model4021 Portable Seawater Desalination Machine
Daily Output4,021 gallons (approx. 15 m³/day)
Desalination Rate99.5%
Product Water TDSBelow 200 ppm
Energy Consumption3–4 kWh per m³
DesignContainerized, portable and skid-mounted

From Factory Test to Shipment

All three machines were manufactured at WTEYA's Jingshan smart manufacturing base. Each unit was assembled, wired and pressure-tested, then run on a factory test bench to confirm output, product-water quality and that the desalination rate met the 99.5% specification before packing.

After the water tests passed, the units were prepared for sea transport: internal components secured, connections capped and the machines packed for a container. The shipment left with the full export documentation set so that the client can clear and commission the equipment on arrival. For this type of portable unit, WTEYA's standard production and delivery lead time is 30 to 60 days.

Why the Client Chose a Portable System

A fixed desalination plant can take months of civil works before the first drop of water is produced. A portable package changes that equation. It arrives pre-assembled, needs only a feed line, power and a product-water point, and can be relocated if the site's needs change.

Because the client ordered three identical units, the capacity can also be scaled: run them together for peak demand, or spread them across more than one location. For coastal and island sites, that flexibility is often worth more than a single larger plant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What capacity does each portable seawater desalination machine deliver?

A: Each 4021 unit produces about 4,021 gallons (15 m³) of fresh water per day, with a desalination rate of 99.5% and product-water TDS below 200 ppm.

Q: Can the units be relocated after installation?

A: Yes. The containerized, skid-mounted design allows the units to be moved between coastal sites as demand changes, without rebuilding a fixed plant.

Q: How long does delivery take?

A: Standard production and delivery lead time for a portable unit of this type is 30 to 60 days, depending on the configuration.
