First-Effect Evaporation
Wastewater is preheated and boiled using primary steam in the first evaporator.
Step 2
Second-Effect Evaporation
Vapor from the first effect is used as the heat source to boil the liquid in the second effect.
Step 3
Third-Effect Evaporation
Vapor from the second effect is then used to boil the liquid in the third effect at a lower pressure.
Step 4
Final Condensation
The vapor from the third effect is finally condensed into high-purity distilled water.
Step 5
Discharge
The highly concentrated liquid is pumped out from the final effect for disposal or resource recovery.
First Effect
Primary steam heats wastewater in the first evaporator.
Second Effect
Vapor from the first effect heats the liquid in the second.
Third Effect
Vapor from the second effect heats the liquid in the third.
Condensation
Final vapor is condensed back into distilled water for reuse.
Discharge
The concentrate is discharged for further processing or disposal.
How it works
The working principle of a triple-effect evaporator maximizes heat reuse across three stages. Primary steam heats the liquid in the first effect. The vapor from the first effect then heats the second effect. Subsequently, the vapor from the second effect heats the third effect, which operates at the lowest pressure and boiling point. This triple cascading use of heat results in exceptionally low steam consumption, offering the highest level of energy efficiency for large-scale operations.
1. Primary Heating: Material enters the first effect and is heated by primary steam.
2. First Re-use: Vapor from the first effect heats the second effect, causing further evaporation.
3. Second Re-use: Vapor from the second effect heats the third effect, achieving more evaporation.
4. Final Condensation: Vapor from the third effect is sent to a condenser to become distilled water.
5. Collection: The final, highly concentrated liquid is discharged and collected.
