Liquid is fed into the bottom of the long vertical heating tubes.

Boiling & Rising
Steam on the shell side heats the liquid, causing bubbles to form and the liquid to rise via the thermosiphon effect.
Step 3
Film Formation
The rapid upward flow of vapor forces the remaining liquid into a thin film along the inner tube walls.
Step 4
Separation
Vapor and concentrated liquid are separated in a chamber at the top of the evaporator.
Step 5
Recovery
Vapor is condensed into pure distillate, and the thickened concentrate is discharged for collection.
