The Indonesian government plans to invest 50 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 3.3 billion US dollars) by 2024 to expand the sewage treatment plant network and encourage private sector participation through PPP models. Experts from the International Water Association (IWA) point out that Jakarta's case provides a reference for cities in Southeast Asia, but it is necessary to strengthen pipeline construction and community education to ensure the long-term benefits of projects.
